How to View Document Details

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Every document in a marketing review project has a details panel that gathers its key information in one place: the document's name, reference ID, dates, version, file information, and any additional questions answered when it was submitted. This article shows you how to open that panel from the document viewer, read it, and correct the answers if something is wrong.

Open the document

  1. Go to Projects, where all of your marketing review projects are organized, and open the project that contains the document you want to inspect.
  2. Expand the document in the project's list to see the options available for it.
  3. Choose the option to open the document in the full viewer.

Open the document details

  1. In the viewer, open the document actions menu. It holds tools beyond reading the file.
  2. Select View document details. A "View document details" panel opens.

What the panel shows

The panel lists the following, with a dash shown for anything that has no value:

  • Name and Reference ID
  • Due date and Date of use
  • Current version and Number of versions
  • Submitted flags, which are the content flags selected at submission. If none were selected, it reads "No flags (AI review skipped)".
  • Upload date, Document type, File type and File size
  • The answers to your firm's additional submission questions, if any were answered

If your firm has approval expiration configured for this document type, the panel also shows Approval expires, Auto-renews and Renewal resubmission.

Update the details

If an answer needs correcting, select Edit details at the bottom of the panel. The additional questions become editable fields.

  • Select Save to apply your changes. The button stays unavailable until you have actually changed an answer and the required questions are valid. A "Document details updated." confirmation appears when the save succeeds.
  • If the project has more than one document and you have project-level authority (project submitter or marketing review admin), you will also see an "Apply to all documents in this project" checkbox. Check it only if every document should receive the same answers.
  • If you don't need to change anything, select Cancel. Your edits are discarded and the details stay exactly as they were.

Only the fields tied to your firm's additional questions can be edited here. The rest of the panel is read-only.

Closing the panel

Select Close to return to the document. You can reopen the details from the document actions menu whenever you need them.

Note: The Edit details button only appears if your firm has additional submission questions configured and you are a submitter on the document or have project-level authority. If you don't see it, ask a project owner or marketing review administrator to make the change.
