Adding Tests to the Compliance Calendar

Last updated: October 17, 2026

The testing calendar in the Testing Program module shows every scheduled test and task in your compliance program, laid out by due date. Besides the recurring tests that make up your program, you can add a one-off task straight from the calendar. This is useful for an ad hoc review, a follow-up from an exam or audit, or any time-bound item your team needs to track. This article walks through creating a task, setting its due date, and assigning an owner.

Open the testing calendar

Go to the Testing Program module and open the testing calendar. It shows all scheduled tests and tasks across the program, organized by due date, so you can see what's coming up before you add something new.

Add a task to the calendar

  1. Select a day and start a new task. Click the day the task should fall on to open the side panel for that date. Then click New Task. The "Create New Task" form opens at the top of the panel.
  2. Enter a title. Type a short, descriptive name in the Title field. A title is required, and the task can't be added without one. You can also add more context in the optional Description field.
  1. Confirm or change the due date. The due date is set to the day you selected and shows above the form as "Due: [date]." To change it, open the date picker next to the title and choose a new day. For example, you can move the deadline out a few weeks so the team has enough time to finish the work. The "Due" line updates to match.
  1. Assign an owner. The assignee dropdown starts at Unassigned. Open it and pick the team member who will be responsible for completing the task. Every task should have an owner so it's clear who is accountable.
  1. Set recurrence if needed. The recurrence dropdown defaults to not repeating, which is the right choice for a one-off task. If the task needs to happen on a regular schedule, choose one of the preset options or Custom to build your own schedule.
  2. Add the task. Click Add Task to save it. To discard it, click Cancel.

Review the new task

Once it's added, the task appears on the calendar on its due date, and the assignee becomes responsible for completing it. Open the task from the calendar to check that the title, due date, and owner are correct.

Tip: You can filter the calendar by status to focus on open or overdue items, which makes it easier to follow the task through to completion alongside the rest of your testing program.
