How to mark a calendar task complete
Last updated: October 17, 2026
The compliance calendar is where every scheduled test and task for the firm shows up in one monthly view. This article covers how to find a task on the calendar and mark it complete (or move it back to incomplete), as well as how to tell task entries apart from test entries when a single day has several items on it.
Opening a day's schedule
From the calendar's monthly view, click any day to open a panel listing everything scheduled for that date. A day can hold a mix of item types: scheduled tests and standalone tasks. When more than one item falls on the same day, they're grouped together in the panel — expand the group to see each entry individually.
Telling tests and tasks apart
Test entries and task entries behave differently once you open them, so it's worth knowing which you're looking at:
- Test entries show a colored status dot and the test's name. Clicking one takes you straight to that test's own run detail page — its history, status, and related records — rather than opening anything inline in the calendar panel.
- Task entries show a status icon (an empty circle for incomplete, a checkmark for complete), the task's title, and an assignee badge. Clicking a task entry expands it in place, right within the calendar panel.
Marking a task complete
To mark a task complete:
- Open the calendar day the task is scheduled on. If the day has multiple entries, expand the group to find the specific task.
- Click the task entry to expand it.
- The expanded view shows the task's description and its assignee, along with three actions: "Mark Complete," "Edit Task," and "Delete." Click "Mark Complete."
The task's status updates immediately, and its icon switches from an open circle to a filled checkmark to reflect the change.
Undoing a completion
If a task was marked complete by mistake, expand it the same way and click the button again — it now reads "Mark Incomplete" and reverts the status.
Note that "Mark Complete" only applies to tasks. Tests don't carry this action in the calendar panel; a test's status is set by completing its run, and that happens on the test's own detail page rather than from the calendar.
