Consultant Access to Client Environments

Last updated: August 19, 2026

AT A GLANCE

In Hadrius, a consulting/reseller firm is set up as a parent company, and each client it manages is a child company (linked via a parent–child company relationship). This is the same structure behind the "Consultant OS" cockpit — Overview, Consultant dashboard, Manage access, and Catalog — that lets one consulting firm operate across all of its clients from a single place.

Adding a consultant to a child environment is done from the parent company's Manage Access page, and it requires a SUPERADMIN account. This guide covers who can do it, exactly how, and the mistakes to avoid.

The short answer

Q. Who can add a consultant (including themselves) to a child environment?

Only a user whose platform role is SUPERADMIN at the parent (consulting) company. This is enforced two ways: the "Manage Access" tab only appears in navigation for SUPERADMIN users at a company that has child companies, and the save action itself is hard-gated server-side to the SUPERADMIN role — ADMIN is not sufficient.

A regular ADMIN- or EMPLOYEE-role user cannot grant themselves (or anyone else) access to a child environment. There is no self-service path around this — they need to ask a SUPERADMIN at their own firm to do it for them.

Q. Where do I go to add myself to a child environment?

Log in with a SUPERADMIN account at the parent (consulting) company, then go to Overview → Manage Access. This page lists your firm's consultants (i.e., your parent company's employees) and lets you assign each one to specific client companies and specific modules.

Q. What are the actual steps?

  • Open Overview → Manage Access.

  • Find your own name in the consultant list (see “I don't see myself in the list” below if it's missing).

  • Select the child companies (clients) you need access to.

  • Choose the scope for each: Full access (all modules — equivalent to holding the Admin role inside that child company) or Scoped access (pick one or more specific modules: Firm Oversight, Employee Oversight, Comms Review, Marketing, Trade Surveillance).

  • Save. Access takes effect immediately — there is no invite or approval step required on the client's side.

Things that trip people up

Q. Will I see every module for every client?

No. The module choices offered for a given child company are limited to whichever modules that specific client actually has turned on. The available list can differ from client to client — if a module isn't active for that company, it won't be offered as an option..

Q. How do I know if I'm a SUPERADMIN?

Ask your firm's Hadrius admin to check your account's platform role (SUPERADMIN, ADMIN, or EMPLOYEE). If you're not a SUPERADMIN, you'll need someone who is to complete this step for you — there's currently no workaround for that requirement.

Q. Once I have access, how do I actually get into the child environment?

Use the company switcher in Hadrius's top navigation (or the command palette) to switch into the client company you've been granted access to — it will now appear alongside your own company in the list of companies you can switch into.
