Outside brokerage account disclosures
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Registered reps are generally required to disclose personal investment accounts held outside the firm. Here's how to manage them in Hadrius.
Submitting an outside brokerage account
Go to Disclosures → New Disclosure → Outside brokerage account.
Enter the brokerage name, account number, and account type.
If your firm requires live monitoring, connect the account. If it's exempt (e.g., a retirement account under your firm's WSP), select Disclose only — no monitoring required.
Submit for admin review.
What counts as a reportable account
This depends on your firm's WSP, but generally includes: individual brokerage accounts, joint accounts, IRAs and retirement accounts where you direct investments, and accounts held by immediate family members in your household. Accounts with no investment discretion — like a 401(k) managed entirely by a plan administrator — are often exempt.
When in doubt, disclose. It's better to over-report and let your compliance admin decide.
Errors when submitting
Make sure the account number contains only numbers and dashes — no spaces or special characters. If the brokerage isn't in the dropdown, select Other and type the name manually.
💬 If the error persists, contact Hadrius support with a screenshot.
Updating or closing a disclosed account
To update an account (e.g., new account number after a merger), open the disclosure and click Edit. To close a disclosed account, open the disclosure and click Close account — this notifies your compliance admin and removes it from active monitoring.
