Microsoft Teams - What do we archive?

Microsoft Teams: what Hadrius archives

Hadrius connects to Teams through a single Microsoft Graph app registration in your Microsoft 365 tenant. Your IT administrator consents once. Employees never connect their own accounts or approve anything individually. Firms running more than one tenant can connect each separately, and both appear in the same archive.

What we archive

  • Channel messages. Every message in a team channel, public or private, including replies within a thread.

  • Direct messages. One-to-one and group chats.

  • Meeting chat. The chat panel used during a Teams meeting, archived as a chat thread.

  • Attachments. Files shared in a message are downloaded and stored alongside it, and can be opened or exported during review. Attachment contents are not full-text searchable; search runs on message text.

  • Guests and external users. Messages from people outside your tenant, where an in-scope employee is part of the conversation.

  • Bot and app messages, labelled as bots rather than people.
