Using the Template Library (certification, disclosure, branch exam, firm oversight)
Last updated: October 17, 2026
The Template Library is where your firm keeps its reusable compliance templates, such as certification, disclosure, branch exam, and firm oversight templates. This article walks through filtering the library by template type and creating a new certification template, then saving it as a draft so you can finish and publish it later. Follow these steps whenever you need a new template and aren't ready to make it live.
Find the right part of the library
Open the Template Library from your account settings. It lists every template your firm has created. If the list is long, filter it by template type so that you only see the kind you're working with. In this example we choose Certification, but the same approach works for the other template types.
Create a new template
- From the filtered library, choose the option to create a new template.
- Enter a clear, descriptive name. Pick something your team will recognize later, because the name is how you'll find the template in the library.
- Select the module the template belongs to. The module determines where the template can be used. For a template that supports attestation workflows, choose Certification.
- Continue to the template editor.
Build the template
The template editor is where you define the template's content and questions. A new template starts in draft status, so nothing you add here is live until you publish it. You can build as much or as little as you like in one sitting.
Save your work as a draft
When you want to stop, choose "Save as draft". This stores your progress without making the template available for use. You'll return to the Template Library, where your work is saved.
Find your draft later
Open the Drafts view in the Template Library to see every template that is still in progress. Your new template appears there, and you can open it at any time to keep editing.
What happens next: A draft stays in the Drafts view until you finish it and publish it from the editor. Only published templates are live, so you can safely leave a draft and come back to it.
