How do I archive Zoom Meeting Chat?
Last updated: November 3, 2026
Hadrius archives Zoom meeting chat through its capture partner, Nuclei. Setup takes four steps, done once by a Zoom admin for your whole account.
Before you start
Who: a Zoom account admin
How long: about 1 to 2 weeks, mostly waiting for Zoom to turn on archiving after Step 1
Step 1: Request archiving from Zoom
Submit Zoom's archiving request form with these answers:
Field | Answer |
|---|---|
Account type | Production |
Compliance partner | Nuclei + Hadrius |
Enable features | Archiving chat for regulated users on external meetings; JSON Format for In-Meeting Chat |
Step 2: Check that Zoom has turned on archiving
Zoom usually enables the feature 1 to 2 weeks after the form is submitted, and doesn't always confirm. To check yourself:
Log in to admin.zoom.us.
Go to Account Management > Account Settings, then open the Meeting tab.
Scroll down to Archive meetings and webinars.
If the setting appears, archiving is on and you can continue. If not, check again in a few days.
Step 3: Turn on Archive meetings and webinars
In the same Archive meetings and webinars setting:
Select Meetings and Webinars.
Select Messages.
Adjust any other archiving options your firm wants.
Turn on the toggle next to Archive meetings and webinars.
Step 4: Authorize the connection
Let your Hadrius account manager know archiving is on. Hadrius will send you an authorization link. Open it, sign in with your Zoom admin account, and approve the connection.
Hadrius then completes the connection on our side, and meeting chats sync into Hadrius daily from there.
